Even with something like Osculator I can't really think of a way to accomplish this without it being implemented from developer's side. To be honest, I have a hard time remembering all of the midi tools/functions that are available in Cubase, so I don't use them that often anyway, lol.Ĭoncerning 2.) There is an extra obstacle: Even if it were possible - How could the DAW know to send out CCs of which track - That gives me extra headaches. It just isn't as convenient as in Cubase, but you also don't have a lot of Cubase's baggage. Very true! However, unless you are really trying to work quickly, and you are a master with Cubase, all of the essential midi capabilities are in S1. No matter what you might rip from it in that regard there will always be lots of other things they've done over the last 40 years or whatever. I love (and prefer) Studio One but it's obviously an unreasonable expectation to think it would match Cubase for MIDI sequencing overall.

All of the things they did for "pure" professional level MIDI sequencers (which is all there was then) way back then is still in there somewhere.Įxample below, and there's a relative ton of little handy things like that in there: They've been at it forever, since long before there was ever such a thing as a Digital Audio Workstation. It is really strange that S1 sends out only certain CCs for feedback, for example to iPad with TouchOSC or regular midi controllers. I use CC32 for keyswitching articulations instead of regular note key switches. In my case I use midi tracks without an instrument but send these notes and CCs out to an external instrument (Vienna Ensemble Pro). Exactly, it would be a dream to be able or find a way link these two ways of controlling CCs or at least have a command to send the midi event CC lanes to track automation.
